Join our Social Group today!
Our social group takes place all across the communities of York Region and Toronto. Friendship, accessibility and safe spaces are just a few things we create with our members with disabilities.
The goal of the Social Group is to create a support circle for young adults with disabilities in York Region aged 15-30. We organize a recreational activity once per month that is facilitated solely by volunteers. Through this program, we create visibility and awareness in the community so that there are safe spaces all over York Region for our members with disabilities. As a result of one-to-one or two-to-one volunteer pairings, we are able to also help our members with any personal goals, including communication and social skills. Our services are free, and the only fee we charge is for the event itself (e.g. admission to the local bowling alley or for a restaurant lunch!)
We pride ourselves in the quality of our volunteers, most being young people interested, educated and/or involved in programs related to social services, education, health care and nonprofits. All volunteers go through our specialized team-building training program.
COVID-19 UPDATE: We are running our Social Group, Accessible Taekwondo and Adaptive Yoga Program via Zoom! Email us at [email protected] if you would like more information on how to join us.
