Join HOH and Moohan’s Accessible Taekwondo Program today!
Hand Over Hand and Moohan Taekwondo have teamed up to create Markham’s first Accessible Taekwondo Program, where taekwondo is adapted to youth and adults with developmental disabilities. Trained Moohan instructors in addition to Hand Over Hand volunteers will practice and develop taekwondo techniques that are attuned to students’ individual capabilities and needs. All of Moohan’s coaches are passionate about martial arts, and have many years of teaching and competition experience. They are nationally certified under the National Coaching Certificate Program (NCCP).
While Hand Over Hand’s name means that our community is a team working together, “Moohan” means “infinite” in Korean, with a true belief that there is no limit to one’s potential. Our mission and goals for our member truly come together in this active, virtual program. Hand Over Hand’s and Moohan’s Taekwondo Program aims to create a safe space for all participants, where youth of all abilities can improve their physical and mental health, at their own pace.
A FREE uniform from Moohan Taekwondo is included and students can arrange a time for local pick up.
If members would like to graduate from their belt level to move onto the next belt level, there is an option to take a belt test for $65 in between levels.
Zoom will be used to host all classes. A link will be provided within 24 hours of the start of the first class.
Classes will start on Tuesday, March 2, 2021! This program runs weekly on Tuesday nights from 8:00pm to 8:45pm for a total of 9 classes (ending on Tuesday, April 27, 2021).
Registration opens on handoverhand.eventbrite.ca on February 23, 2021. Limited spots are available.
If you’re interested in joining us as a member, volunteering for this program, or if you have any questions, please email [email protected] for more details.
